In 2008, The Duxbury Alternative Energy Committee began a series of studies to examine the feasibility of erecting a wind turbine in Town. Milestones included:


     October 2009--Wind Facilities Site Assessment Report by DNV Global.


     December 2009--Bylaw Presented to Board of Selectmen, Recommended for Approval.


     January 2010--Bylaw Presented to Planning Board, Board voted to Recommend for Approval.


     January 2010--Bylaw Presented to Finance Committee, Committee voted to Recommend for Approval.


     March 15 2010--Town Meeting approves By Law amendment to establish permit process for a Municipal Turbine.


     June 2010--Grant Approved for Feasibility Study on Town Owned Land identified by Site Assessment Report as a viable target.


     Summer 2010 to Summer 2011--Feasibility Study


     Fall 2011--Hold open meetings to discuss Feasibility Study


     Jan 2012--Economic Review determines solar energy holds more promise for Duxbury's needs at this time, wind study put on hold
